Edit Any LIVE Website like It’s Yours Directly From Your Browser

If you’ve ever wanted to quickly:

  • Show a client how their site / LP should look
  • Edit a website so your designer knows what you want
  • Create wireframes and mockups based on another site in minutes
…then the following tool is exactly for you. It allows you to make super quick edits to any LIVE web pages in real time.
This free tool is a simple, powerful way to test marketing or layout changes without having to edit source code or access a website builder.
Here’s what you do:
  • Highlight the following code:

					javascript:(function() {if (document.body.contentEditable === 'false' || document.body.contentEditable === 'inherit') {document.body.contentEditable = 'true'; document.designMode='on'; } else {document.body.contentEditable = 'false'; document.designMode='off';}})()//Live Editor By Yossi bezalel WWW.ROI.IM

  1. While highlighted, drag the code to your bookmarks bar.
  2. Click the bookmark you’ve created.
  3. Now you can click anywhere on a page and start
    editing,
    directly from your browser.
  4.  You can turn off the EDIT mode by clicking the bookmark again.
     and vice versa.
If you're on a desktop computer, saving your results is dead simple. Just open up your browser, navigate to the page, and go to File > Save Page As. Save it as “Web Page, Complete” somewhere in your computer.
Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+S in Windows or Cmd+S on a Mac to call up the Save As dialogue box.

You'll get an HTML file and a folder full of images and other data contained within-don't delete this.

When you want to see the web page, just double-click on the HTML file and you should be able to see it just as it was when you saved it, whether you have a connection or not.

We use this trick a lot when wireframing new sites and tinkering with new copy ideas for our sites.

* The code performance tested on various desktop browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE, Edge, and more on Windows and macOS platforms.

Try it. It works ( almost ) on any webpage and completely free.
